so my advice would be the following:

my grandpa used to think countries could just create money.

​genuinely thought whoever was in charge could just produce it out of thin air whenever they needed it… and probably pictured the government BASICALLY PRINTING MONEY LIKE IT WAS FREE TOILET PAPER, FLUSHING IT DOWN THE STREETS, TELLING EVERYONE TO JUST GRAB A BUCKET IF THEY WANTED TO GET PAST THE POVERTY LINE

​But when you just "print" more without any value backing it up, the currency dies.

​that the same as cold outreach

​people think they can just "print" more generic emails to get rich.

​but that just lower the value of every word you send

​if you make them think they know you, the fear barrier is lowered.

​that’s why you should ALWAYS personalize.

so my advice would be the following:

don’t launch any generic "mass-blast" outreach campaigns — the rapidly-rising skepticism of prospects (regularly going up) ain’t going to get any better, and probably’ll only get a whole lot worse.

understand the "grandpa logic" of currency... especially how printing worthless, unbacked "money" (copy) is exactly what the lazy freelancers are doing right now.

lower the fear barrier with personalization — pay attention to the part about how making them think they already know you gets you past the "stranger danger" filters.
